Manga Debut Chapter 2

Makoto (マコト, Makoto), also known as Tōretsutei (闘烈帝, lit. Fierce Martial Empress), is one of the sub-leaders of Ryōzenpaku alongside Keiko.

Appearance

Makoto is a young woman of average height, with long black hair that extends down to her legs and thin eyebrows. Her breasts are also quite large, as together with Ayane and Keiko they are referred to as the Six Enormous Mountains by Rintaro.[1] She wears a dark coloured vest over a white button down shirt, with both layers left open at the top exposing her hefty cleavage. Makoto also wears a dark coloured skirt with two yellow lines, black stockings, and black shoes.[2]

Personality

Makoto has been shown to be a calm and reasonable individually, choosing to respect Ayane's decision of becoming Rintaro's disciple despite her own personal feelings.[3] She has a peculiar obsession with personal hygiene, especially bathing, often arguing with Keiko over whether they should snack or bathe, and will even extend to complain about the ill and gross feeling after a short workout, wanting to bathe immediately after greeting Ayane on the first day. She also has a more emotional side, becoming infuriated upon finding out that Rintaro has upset Ayane and attacking him on sight.[4]

Plot

The Persistent Disciple

Ch2MakotoAttacksAyane

Makoto attacking Ayane.

Alongside Keiko, Makoto attacks Ayane in the school hallway on the first day back from summer vacation. Cornering the Dragon with a boulder Keiko had brought in with her, Makoto tries to attack her leader with her bisento only for Ayane to easily dodge before grabbing the weapon's end with her bare hand. Despite receiving praise for her skills, Makoto still comments that she isn't satisfied with her current level. Bringing up the rumours of Ayane having become someone's disciple, Ayane explains that Kyōka was even more powerful than they had anticipated, before suddenly leaving through a nearby window. Suggesting to Keiko that they go have a bath, Makoto reminds the other girl that they can't overturn a decision made by Ayane and that she must have her reasons for taking on a master. Instead, the two decide to see for themselves if the man deserves Ayane's respect or not.[5]

Later, Makoto enters the bath with Keiko and complains about Keiko eating and bringing in the statue she had made out of the boulder earlier. Noticing Rintaro running from an upset Ayane, both girls jump to conclusions and attack him, thinking the man had done something to hurt their friend. She then continues to attack when Rintaro gets up, telling the man that by dishonouring Ayane and defiling the bathhouse he has made two mistakes. However he is able to dodge their attacks easily despite having his eyes closed, surprising the girls. Makoto is then subsequently paralysed by Rintaro's Gansai Suida technique along with Keiko, rendering the two immobile.[6]

However, a water pipe damaged by Rintaro's attack suddenly breaks, sending a torrent of boiling water towards the two girls. Unable to defend themselves, Makoto can only watch as Ayane uses her own body to protect them despite their protests. Impressed by their friendship, Rintaro stops the flow of water and offers to help Ayane train. Makoto and Keiko then rush over to Ayane when she collapses from exhaustion, and chase Rintaro away when they realise he was still watching.[7]

The Disciplinary Squad

The next day, Makoto appears in Rintaro's room alongside Ayane and Keiko in order to start their training. Requesting that they start the day with a bath, she proceeds to get into an argument with Keiko over what they should do first. Realising that Rintaro has disappeared, Ayane begins to call for him before Keiko warns her about the Disciplinary Squad, to which Makoto comments on their strange movements. Unsettled by this, Ayane quickly leaves with Makoto and Keiko in tow.[8]

Later after the Disciplinary Sqaud is disbanded, she accompanies Ayane and Keiko to meet with Rintaro.[9]

Meeting with the Tiger

Day later, she is with Ayane and Keiko when Ayane stares at Rintaro in the lunch room and when Rintaro was deciding where the next relaxation point should be with Tamao and Kōsuke.[10]

Some time after Rintaro encounter with the Tiger, Makoto and her friends becomes a member of the audience to the battle between Rintaro and Meru in the Batsuzangaisei Ceremony where she witnesses Rintaro emerge victorious after he destroyed an old school building and the Ren Hall (albeit unintentionally) with a single blow.

Bakugyaku Festival

Sometime after Rintaro's incredible victory, Makoto is chosen for the upcoming Bakugyaku Festival and much to her dismay, her team mate is no other than Kako, a friend and ally of Ayane's nemesis, Kyōka. Despite they are at each other throats, (not really since their leader's rivalry) both Makoto and Kako had to put their differences aside for once and became an unlikely allies to take on the 1st Ranked team, Rintaro and Kyōka.[11] That is however, the theme of the festival that involving dances would seemly shorten their bitter alliance since both she and Makoto don't dance well (actually they refused to cooperate due to the rivalry between Ayane and Kyōka).

Weeks has pass since their reluctant cooperation, Kako and Makoto had to deal with the competition. Just as her team's turn to present their dance, the Sword Dance as the presentation for the crowd in the stadium. In spite their "team work" , Makoto would being a heated battle with Kako as her weapon scared her face; transformed the supposed dance into a ill brawl. Their fight was short-lived as Okina intervenes and both girls were disqualified for breaking the rule of the theme; which ironically much to her relief, she won't be dealing with Kako anymore.

Ren's Return

Sometime after the event, Makoto is joined the class swimming class while taking her rubber duck for bathing.

WTF Moment scilence

Makoto is speechless about Rintaro's "detective skills".

After the class, Makoto and Keiko angrily accused the Virginity sworn Brothers for stealing Ayane's underwear, which she had cynic about the boys for their perversion about the girls and assumed they are the culprit. With the misunerstand still arose, Makoto later witnessed Rintaro decided to help the boys to clear their names with an unusual method: detective investigation. So was so speechless about Rintaro's passion about detective manga and novel that she would found him more sympathetic. Regardless, Makoto reluctantly entrust Rintaro's investigation for Ayane's sake while keep an eagle eye towards the "suspects" by tie them onto the pole, telling them that until Rintaro returns with his answers they are not clear from suspicions.

This is shown during her debut where upon testing Ayane's strength she was able to make rapid strikes in seconds whilst simultaneously sculpting a dragon out the boulder behing Ayane.[12]
